How to measure the internal clearance of four row tapered roller bearings?
On site, if you need to measure or recheck the clearance of four row tapered roller bearings, what should we do? First of all, it should be clear that when the four row tapered roller bearings leave the factory, there are serial numbers a to E on the bearing end face, as shown in Figure 1. Secondly, you need to get three values: dimension ①, dimension ② and dimension ③ after withdrawing the spacer ring. Finally, it is important to note that the color is not to look good, but to distinguish parts.

1、 How to get the size?
Please measure the dimension (4) with a caliper first, and then pad up the bearing with three equal height blocks according to the placement requirements shown in Fig. 2, and measure the dimension (5) and dimension (6) in two steps. When there is no leveling ruler, long caliper and depth vernier caliper can be used for measurement.

2、 How to get dimension ② and dimension ③?
Prepare three equal height measuring blocks and measure and record their height M. according to the placement requirements shown in Fig. 3, measure the dimensions (7) and (8) with calipers in two steps.

3、 How to get the clearance value of bearing?
The difference between dimension (1), dimension (2), dimension (3) and the height of the corresponding three spacer rings is the axial clearance value of the bearing.
4、 Specific requirements of measurement process
1. Fully fit with the front roller bearing and ensure the parts to rotate.
2. Measure three points in the circumferential direction and take the average value.
3. The height value m of the measuring block should be 5 ~ 10 mm larger than the size ①.
