Deep groove ball bearings are widely used types of rolling bearings. The basic design of a deep groove ball bearing comprises an outer ring, an inner ring, steel balls, and cages. The type code for deep groove ball bearings is 6. These bearings are primarily used to carry pure radial loads and can also simultaneously bear radial and axial loads. When subjected to only pure radial load, the contact angle is zero. However, when the deep groove ball bearing has a large radial clearance, it functions as an angular contact ball bearing and can withstand a considerable axial load.

The deep groove ball bearings have a low friction coefficient, allowing for high limit speeds. Deep groove ball bearings are superior to thrust, especially in high-speed operation with large axial loads. The structure of deep groove ball bearing is simple, and it is easy to achieve higher manufacturing precision compared with other types, so it is easy to be mass-produced in series; the manufacturing cost is also low and widely used. Deep groove ball bearings can come in different structures besides the basic type. These structures include deep groove ball bearings with dust covers, deep groove ball bearings with rubber seal rings, deep groove ball bearings with stop grooves, and large load capacity deep groove ball bearings with notched balls.

The deep groove ball bearing has a dust cover. Two standard deep groove ball bearing types with dust cover are Z type and 2Z type. The bearing with a dust cover is used because it is difficult to lubricate alone, and it is inconvenient to install the lubricating oil circuit and check the situation. The bearing has been filled with quantitative and designated brand anti-rust and lubricating lithium base grease in the factory. The effective space in the bearing should be filled with 1/4 to 1/3 of the amount of grease, which can be adjusted per the user's requirements. The injected lubricating grease can usually guarantee the operation of the bearing under the working condition of -40~+120℃. If the user has higher bearing requirements, other grease properties and grades can also be filled according to the situation. Bearings with dust covers can work effectively for a long time after being greased, and there is no need to inject grease or oil during use.

Bearings with dust caps are mostly used in small and medium-sized generators, both ends of rotors of motors, automobiles, tractors, air conditioners, fans, etc., as well as occasions that have special requirements for noise and vibration of bearings.

Sealed deep groove ball bearings with sealing rings. The standard deep groove ball bearings with sealing rings include contact sealed bearing RS type (one side sealed), 2RS type (two sides sealed) and non-contact sealed bearing RZ type (one side sealed), 2RZ type (both sides sealed). The performance, grease, and application of bearings with seal rings are the same as bearings with shields. The dust cover creates a large gap between itself and the inner ring of the bearing. In contrast, the gap between the non-contact sealing ring bearing and the inner ring is very small, and the sealing lip of the contact sealing ring bearing and the inner ring is small. There is no gap between the inner rings, and the sealing effect is good, but the friction has increased. Where low noise is required, 60 and 62 series of smaller-sized deep groove ball bearings are often used. Regardless of open bearings, bearings with dust covers, or bearings with seals, low noise and low vibration requirements can be put forward when ordering. In my country's JB (machinery industry standard), the vibration allowable values of the low, medium, and high-frequency bands of V1, V2, and V3 vibration levels are stipulated. FV can also provide ultra-low noise bearings marked with postcode QE5.

Deep groove ball bearings with stop grooves and stop rings The standard deep groove ball bearings with stop grooves have a rear code N and bearings with stop grooves and snap rings have postcodes NR, in addition to ZN, ZNR, and other structural variants. Deep groove ball bearings not only withstand radial loads but also limit the axial displacement of the bearings when equipped with stop grooves and stop rings; this simplifies the axial structure of the bearing seat and reduces the axial size, making these bearings ideal for parts that require small axial loads, such as automobiles and tractors.

Deep groove ball bearings with ball-filling gaps. The standard deep groove ball bearings with ball filling gaps have two diameter series of 200 and 300. This kind of bearing has notches on the inner and outer rings on one side of the bearing, and more balls can be loaded through this opening so that the bearing's radial load capacity is larger than that of standard deep groove ball bearings. However, the axial bearing capacity is small and cannot run at high speed. If there is a large axial load, it generally needs to be used with a set of ordinary deep-groove ball bearings. Deep groove ball bearings with filling notches are available in various construction variants. The structure variant with dust cover has the same advantages as the basic type of dust cover bearing, and the bearing can be used for a long time after one injection of lithium base grease. In automobile gearboxes, a common technique used for structural modification is the addition of stop grooves and stop rings. This modification helps to limit the axial displacement of the bearing in a limited space, allowing the use of smaller bearings even under conditions of a small axial load while still being able to bear a large radial load. Double-row deep groove ball bearings: The standard double-row deep groove ball bearings are 4200A and 4300A. Type A bearings do not have a ball gap. Two reinforced nylon cages are inserted from both sides of the bearing. Double-row deep groove ball bearings have a radial load capacity 1.62 times higher than single-row deep groove ball bearings and can also bear axial loads.
