There are two structural types of single-row angular contact ball bearings:

Separable angular contact ball bearings: This type of bearing has no lock on the raceway side of the outer ring and can be separated from the inner ring, cage, and ball assembly so they can be installed separately. Most of these are miniature bearings with an inner diameter of less than 10mm, used in devices such as gyro rotors and micro motors with high requirements for dynamic balance, noise, vibration, and stability.

Non-separable angular contact ball bearings: The ring groove of this type of bearing has a lock, so the two rings cannot be separated. The contact angle is divided into three types: contact angle α=40°, which is suitable for bearing large axial load; contact angle α=25°, which is mostly used for precision spindle bearings; contact angle α=15°, which is mostly used for Larger size precision bearings.

Naming rules for single-row angular contact ball bearings

The naming rules of single-row angular contact ball bearings generally comprise the basic model, internal structure code, tolerance class code, and other suffix codes.

Basic model: Indicates the basic type of bearing, indicated by letters followed by the basic code. For example, angular contact ball bearings with contact angles of 15°, 25°, and 40° use C, AC, and B to represent the difference in internal structure.

Tolerance grade code: divided into two grades, four grades, five grades, six grades, 6X grades, and 0 grades, a total of 6 grades, from high to low, and their codes are /PZ, /P4, /PS, /P6, /P6X and /PO. Among them, grade 6X only applies to tapered roller bearings; grade 0 is an ordinary grade not marked in the bearing code.

Suffix: It indicates some specific internal structure and tolerance class of the bearing, such as ACD - the contact angle is 25 degrees.

Single-row angular contact ball bearings are mainly used in machine tool spindles, high-frequency motors, centrifugal separators, front wheels of small cars, differential pinion shafts, booster pumps, drilling platforms, food machinery, dividing heads, repair welding machines, low Noisy cooling towers, electromechanical equipment, coating equipment, machine tool slots, arc welding machines, etc.

This kind of bearing can only bear axial load in one direction. When subjected to radial load, there is an added axial force that comes into play., and the corresponding reverse load must be applied. Therefore, this kind of bearing is generally used in pairs.
